It's a Jungle in HERE!

Friday was such a fun day in our classroom. After our math lesson, the students learned a bunch of math games. They had tons of fun learning and playing them! Enjoy the pictures below!

 I have such exciting news! On Friday, EVERY student passed the spelling test. In our classroom if you get 100% you get to take a shot at the spelling hoop. If you make the basket you get to go to the treasure chest! Two students made the basket this week!

We spent the afternoon making monkeys to hang from our ceiling. Now our classroom REALLY looks like a jungle!

On Monday, we practiced our spelling words by doing rainbow tracing. First they rolled a number and then had to trace the spelling word in that color.

1- RED    2- ORANGE    3- YELLOW   4- GREEN    5- BLUE    6- PURPLE

They really enjoyed this activity!

Boy Scouts and Bus Safety

We had a very busy week this week. On Tuesday, Paul Buck came to our classroom and talked to the boys about boy scouts. They were really excited about it and they even got to wear cool orange bracelets home. A letter went home tonight with more information about boys scouts.

This week we covered bus safety. Each student got a bus safety packet and we discussed the bus rules. On Wednesday, the class went onto the bus and we practiced how to get off the bus in an emergency situation. The students did an awesome job!

Tomorrow we have our weekly assessment and final spelling test. Make sure you practice, practice, practice! In the afternoon we will be making monkeys to hang from our ceiling. Remember we are in the jungle!

got together and watched a movie.

First Week of School

The first week of school has been so much fun! It sure has flown by. This year we have a new theme in our classroom. It is called Mrs. Skjerven's Safari. Our room looks like a jungle!

We have been working really hard this week. Here are some of the activities we did:

• Discussed classroom rules
• Worked on "All About Me" posters 
• Read Chrysanthemum and made name banners
• Reviewed reading and math skills
• Celebrated Alex's Birthday and made him a birthday book
• Worked on x-tra math and AR tests
