Bingo at the Viking Diner

We were invited over to the Viking Diner to enjoy some bingo with the senior citizens and then enjoyed some root beer floats. Huge thank you goes out to Darcy Hestekind and the Viking Diner. We had an absolute blast and every student received a prize. What a great field trip!

Parachutes

We did a fun engineering project. I left out materials for the students to make a parachute and they had to come up with their own design. Then, we went outside to test them. After the test, we came back in and they had 10 minutes to fix any issues. Last, we went back outside and dropped our parachutes. They were excellent and every single one worked! Great job!

Weather Vanes

We had a blast making weather vanes today. They did such a great job on them and had tons of fun being creative on their drawings. We are hoping for some nice weather tomorrow to get out the compass, set up our weather vanes, and find the direction of the wind. We have an excited group of second grade students!

Learning about onomatopoeia!

Today we learned about onomatopoeia (words that make a sound). They sure had a fun time saying it! Each student chose a word that was an example of onomatopoeia and wrote it in bubble letters and then made it pop by drawing a pattern around it. It was a very fun activity.
See the video we made below.
