Field Trip to Rydell

We took our field trip to the Rydell Wildlife Refuge. We could not have asked for a better day. The stations included nature hike, find that smell, and studying living things in water. They had a great time and had excellent behavior.  Enjoy the pictures below.

Minute to Win It and Pie in the Face!

We were very sad to have our track and field day cancelled due to the weather. But, we had a very fun afternoon playing minute to win it. Our classroom had seven different stations they had to try and master in one minute. Every time they accomplished the task they got to pick a prize out of the treasure chest. It was a very fun afternoon!

The last thing we did on this afternoon was go to the gym to see Mr. G get a pie in the face. The two top students in the school that sold the most for Jump Rope for Heart were able to throw a pie in his face. Dominic won from our classroom!

Bingo at the Viking Diner

We were invited over to the Viking Diner to enjoy some bingo with the senior citizens and then enjoyed some root beer floats. Huge thank you goes out to Darcy Hestekind and the Viking Diner. We had an absolute blast and every student received a prize. What a great field trip!

Parachutes

We did a fun engineering project. I left out materials for the students to make a parachute and they had to come up with their own design. Then, we went outside to test them. After the test, we came back in and they had 10 minutes to fix any issues. Last, we went back outside and dropped our parachutes. They were excellent and every single one worked! Great job!

Weather Vanes

We had a blast making weather vanes today. They did such a great job on them and had tons of fun being creative on their drawings. We are hoping for some nice weather tomorrow to get out the compass, set up our weather vanes, and find the direction of the wind. We have an excited group of second grade students!
