Update!

Jeri came in last Tuesday to introduce yoga calm to the second grade students. They were excellent participants! They worked on breathing with stuffed animals.

The King and Queen of MCC came to visit our classroom and also played outside for recess. It was a royal day!

We played "Crumple and Throw" to review our reading, spelling, and grammar skills for the week. We had three groups and each group chose their names. The teams were Bolts, Crushers, and Blue. Each person got a chance to answer a question and if they got it right, they could shoot the crumpled paper into the trash can for one or two extra points. It was a fun game and every group got every question correct!

The last thing we did on Friday was go on a Fall Scavenger Hunt.

We found a snake!

Jordan got a blue day and he chose to be the class photographer today. Enjoy his pictures below!

Sidewalk Scoot!

We had a really fun day!! It all started with our normal routine of morning work. Then, we ventured outside to review what we had learned during the week. We reviewed by playing sidewalk scoot. I wrote twelve review questions that the students had to answer by scooting along the sidewalk. The students were really engaged and all seventeen students got every question correct. It was a lot of fun to get outside and learn today.

During the afternoon we worked on our fall art project. Pictures are to come soon!

First Day of School!

We had an excellent first day of school! Some of us had some first day jitters so we got rid of them with some jitter juice. We had a big discussion on manners and rules and read the book Do Unto Otters (A Book about Manners) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45kHhh0INgk. It was a busy and exciting day! I am looking forward to this school year. Enjoy the first day pictures below.
