This week we have been focusing on sequencing. We read a story about growing a vegetable garden. Then the students worked on putting the events of the story in order by using first, next, then, and last. We also read the story The Ugly Vegetables and worked together to make a sequence. We are really getting good at this skill. It was so fun to see all their hard work and energy during these activities!

Science Journals
We have been really working hard in our science journals lately. We did a unit on the sun, moon, and planets. I have posted some examples of the students work below. They sure do enjoy science and really get into adding information into their science journals.
We are ready for Spring!
We added a rain hat and water boots to our classroom monkeys. They are ready for April now!
We welcomed spring by making pointillism eggs and butterflies. Even if we don't see a whole of of spring outsie we are bringing it to our classroom!
Our class has the bulletin board in the school entrance this month. We read a book about Claude Monet and it talked about his life and his form of art called Impressionism. We fell in love with his water lilies paintings! We used water colors to paint our lilies and WOW did they ever turn out neat!

2-D and 3-D Shapes
We are doing a unit on 2-D and 3-D shapes. The students are doing amazing at this. We have been practicing shapes at the website http://resources.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/maths/shape.htm. We did some stations around he room. A fun activity that we did was making our own 3-d shapes. We made cubes and pyramids with only using toothpicks and clay. They turned out pretty neat!

All About Dr. Seuss!
We had Dr. Seuss book cover puzzles placed all around the classroom to play with.
An art/writing project we did in class was called There is a Wocket in my pocket. Each student had to come up with a creature that rhymed with pocket, describe it, and then make it. They were very creative in this activity. Enjoy them below!
This was a very fun activity! We read the book The Cat in the Hat and then wrote about to the writing prompt, If Thing One and Thing Two came to my house... They sure came up with some interesting ideas. They all decided that their parents wouldn't be to happy if they showed up! Last, we used our hands to make a Thing 1 or Thing 2.
